6/23/09 – Obama Presser – Comrade Obama in response to a question on his health-care legislation made comments about “free market advocates” that suggested these interests were in opposition to his position. We have a President that has come out as something other than an advocate of the free market and quite frankly does not understand what a free market is. This point was underscored when Obama indicated that those free market advocates should not be concerned with competition from a “public” option. When it comes to options the government always has an unfair advantage.

I did not catch the entire press conference because the degree to which the press were acting like sycophantic lapdogs was making me throw up.

Senator Jay Rockefeller D-W.VA. Is Liberal Military Hating Scum

Exhibit “A” from the Chareslton Gazette today:

Rockefeller criticized Sen. John McCain, the presumed Republican nominee for president. “Senator McCain does have a temper. But today, he speaks in a monotone on the campaign trail.”

Rockefeller believes McCain has become insensitive to many human issues. “McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit.

“What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues.”

We can set aside the fact that they did not have laser-giuded missiles back in 1967 and we can disregard that fighter pilots engaged in missions like Senator McCain seldom went above 15,000 feet and would typically drop to 3500 feet or so when firing on targets. Heck, we can even ignore that McCain got real up close and personal as a POW, damn closer than 35,000 feet.

No, while Rockefeller’s idiocy is depressing given his position, his penchant for antimilitarism is worrisome and disgusting. It does, however, typify the attitude that the left holds toward the military. It is just the latest honest expression just like Dick Durbin and the Code Pink skanks.
